Fern holds a dual Bachelor’s degree in Music Education / Performance from Five Towns Music College in Dix Hills, New York. He holds a Music Education K-12 teaching license and has taught in both private and public-school settings with over 30 years’ experience teaching students of all ages.
He has performed on stage from the early age of 6 and has since played in and directed orchestras, concert, jazz and marching bands, wind, brass, and percussion ensembles, as well as vocal ensembles of all types including contemporary worship, jazz, barbershop, do-wop and gospel.
He has loved playing in a dozen or so cover and original rock bands over the years. Fern employs a hands-on interactive approach with his students and offers lessons in Voice, Guitar, Electric Bass, Orchestral Strings, Brass and Woodwind Instruments. He also enjoys teaching Vocal Harmony, Ear Training, Sight Singing and Music Theory.
