Walter Tucker discovered his passion for percussion and drumming in 6th grade and quickly became a dedicated performer in a wide range of settings. His experiences included school and community concert bands, orchestras, marching bands, pep bands, praise bands, church orchestras, a professional theater band, and various bands playing rock, jazz, and country music.
Even while pursuing engineering and later physics in college, Walter’s commitment to music never wavered. He continued to hone his skills by being heavily involved in the music department, performing with the Evansville (IN) Philharmonic, the MIT Symphony, and the Boston Conservatory Percussion Ensemble. One of the bands he played in after college won first place in a Boston-wide battle of the bands competition.
Walter teaches all percussion instruments across a wide range of musical styles.
