Summer Classes

From Intermediate level and beyond, the student will learn how to improvise using simple hymns or popular music of their choice in a private lesson setting. Six 1-hr sessions scheduled with the teacher.

Students will learn the theory patterns behind chords, how to read chords charts and play chords on their instruments. (4-8 students per class)

Students will learn about counting beats from whole notes to eighth notes. They will learn to play simple rhythmic patterns on rhythm sticks, drums, and a variety of percussion instruments. This will be a fun and interactive music group. (4-10 students per class)

This is an introduction for students interested in beginner band or orchestra. Come join us for a half-day camp to meet the four instrument families: strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. Each participant will have an opportunity to play various instruments along with playing interactive music games. Each student also has the option to register for 4 private lessons at a discounted price on the instrument of their choice. (Minimum of 6 students)

Students will play violin, viola, or cello in small group sessions once a week for 4 weeks. Come learn the basics of the guitar. Students will learn at least three chords using the first three strings as well as the notes on strings 1-3, allowing them to play many songs
out of the songbook. In addition to playing guitar, they will learn how to read music on the treble clef, guitar theory and technique, and strumming patterns using music games and boom whackers. Each student also has the option to register for 4 private guitar lessons at a discounted price. (Minimum of 4 students)
