Come learn the basics of the guitar. Students will learn the parts of their guitar, basic notes and chords, strumming techniques, and leave with a book of songs they can play at the end of the class.

This group will play two or four-part arrangements that are interchangeable with various instruments. Students will practice rhythms intonation, sight reading, and learn basic theory concepts in a small ensemble setting.

Class will focus on a Haydn String Quartet and other simpler quartet arrangements. This is an opportunity for small ensemble playing at an advanced level. Practice will be encouraged.

Date Offered: Four one-hour sessions scheduled with the teacher between July 1 – August 31 on a Tuesday.
This class is a continuation of the Wind Ensemble Groups, but new participants are welcome if they have played their wind instruments for at least a year. The focus will be to continue to read more advanced notes and rhythms, and working on playing in a group.

Date Offered: Four one-hour sessions that are scheduled with the teacher between July 1- August 31 on a Wednesday.
This is an introduction for students interested in beginner band or orchestra. Come join us for a half-day camp to meet the four instrument families: strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. Each participant will receive a clarinet reed and packet and have an opportunity to play various instruments along with playing interactive music games. Each student also has the option of one free lesson on the instrument of their choice.

This class is for more advanced students to experience a live performance band environment with the goal of collaboratively writing an original song. It is preferable students can read chord charts and music and be able to demonstrate some level of proficiency.
(Minimum of 4, maximum of 10 students)
Required Materials: An instrument, notebook, 3-ring black binder, clear insert sheets, pencil, and a willingness to
work hard, be creative, and have fun!
Participants: Students who play acoustic or electric guitar, bass, drums (percussion), piano or keyboard, vocals,
violin, cello, saxophone, trumpet, ukelele
