This is a 10-week class for string students who have completed Book 1 in any string series. Students will have the experience of playing with others while working on playing to the same beat, playing in tune, and following a conductor/teacher. A recital will be given the last class.
Fee: $60 ($30 for registered students also enrolled in private lessons)

This 10-week session is for students who want to play a wind instrument (flutes, clarinets, alto saxes, trumpets, trombones). Students will begin reading through the Level I (red) Standard of Excellence Band Method book. The students must commit to practicing at home at least 4 days a week for about 20 minutes each day to keep up and maximize progress as a group. The focus will be on learning how to play their instruments, basic note reading, counting rhythms and playing together as a group. Be Part of The Band!!

This 10-week session is for students who already play a wind instrument (flutes, clarinets, alto saxes, trumpets, trombones). Students will be reading through the Level II (blue) Standard of Excellence Band Method book. The students must commit to practice at home at least 4 days a week for about 30 minutes each day to keep up and maximize progress as a group. We will be focusing on tone quality, balance of parts, following key signatures and strengthening breath support this fall. In addition to the method book we will do some two and three parts ensemble songs as a group. Be Part of The Band!!

This is a group for registered students with special needs who are also taking private lessons at The Shepherd’s Church. Jammin’ Jents performs in the community at least 2 times a year and plays mellow rock music from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Participation is by teacher recommendation.

The goals of this group: to learn to play with a group, count accurately, play in tune, and learn to play separate parts. Sight reading will be a big part of this class.
Prerequisites: Students must have completed a level one string book of instruction, know how to count in 3/4, and 4/4 with eighth notes, and be able to play in the keys of D, G, and A. An audition may be required.

Prerequisites: Students must have completed a level two string book of instruction, be able to play by reading notes, know how to count sixteenth notes, familiar with playing in 2/4-, 3/4-, 4/4-, and 6/8-time signatures, play in the keys of C, D, G, and F, and be a good sight reader. An audition may be required.

Cost: $100.00 per 10-week session. If registration occurs after the session start date, the fee will be pro-rated for the number of weeks remaining – the payment link will be sent once the minimum number of students is confirmed.
